SAIDI

Average index of systemic long and very long disruptions in electricity supply, determined in minutes per Client. SAIDI is the reliability factor, calculated as the sum of products of the duration of power outages (in minutes) and the number of recipients vulnerable to the effects of disruptions during the year, divided by the total number of supported users connected to the network.

SAIFI

Average index of systemic frequency of long and very long disruptions in electricity supply – SAIFI is the reliability factor, calculated as the number of recipients vulnerable to the effects of all disruptions during the year, divided by the total number of supported recipients.

SCR

(selective catalytic reduction) - Catalytic denitrogenation of flue gas - a method that involves the reduction of nitrogen oxides to atmospheric nitrogen using a substance containing ammonia. The reaction takes place on the surface of the catalyst.

Sieve analysis

Test method consisting of the separation of material (soil, mineral mix) into fractions containing grains of various sizes, by sieving through a set of sieves, as a result of which the grains with the appropriate diameters remain on subsequent sieves (with smaller and smaller meshes). After weighing the individual grain classes, the percentage of material remaining on each sieve with relation to the whole material is determined.

Stakeholder

A person or a group of people interested in any of the decisions or actions taken by the organization. A stakeholder is anyone who influences the organization and everyone whom it affects.

Sustainable development

Is a development, according to which the needs of the present generation may be met without lessening the opportunities for future generations, by taking account of the management which responds to the environmental expectations, as well as social, environmental and economic challenges, facilitating the constant increase of the goodwill and rational management of resources.
